Ever since I was a child, I was raised to be fearful, doubtful and suspicious. I was taught that the world was a dangerous place and I needed to be on guard at all times. I learned not to express my opinions and to hide my 'true self' from the world. I was raised by loving parents, but looking back, I now understand that they were dealing with traumas of their own. As a result, I was programed to place a lot of emphasis on my appearance, put on a façade, and tended to people-please. I never really knew who "I" was.
Then came motherhood. I found myself take on the Mom Role and completely immersed myself in it. I love being a Mom to my two beautiful boys, but as they got older and more independent, I was left with a void - a void that had always been there but I'd never took the time to address. I looked everywhere to try to 'fix' myself. Many, many years of searching and seeking left me feeling tired, defeated and, at one point, hopeless.
But eventually I did find what I was looking for. I found Yoga, and with it, came the realization that I had been seeking in all the wrong places. Equipped with the tools and practices of Yoga, iRest Yoga Nidra and other holistic modalities, I began to find myself. I began to heal emotional wounds that I did not even realize were there. I started to fill the voids that I had carried all my life. I completely transformed my perspective of the world and the relationship I have with myself and those around me. For the first time, I feel genuinely at peace and joyful!
Having gone through many years of searching and learning, I am passionate about helping others who are experiencing a similar journey. I know how difficult it may feel at times but don't give up! It is possible to turn your life around and live with a sense of peace, love and joy.
